Anyone can benefit from having lessons and it is the best way to improve and get more out of your time on the mountain. It is essential for beginners to have correct instruction for the first week or two and group lessons are a great way to learn. You are grouped according to ability (and age for children), so everyone is in the same boat and most people remember their first weeks at ski school as being great fun! Every skier or boarder knows that bogged-in-the-mud feeling. While other skiers and riders whistle past, you poke along as though an invisible elephant sits on the tails of your skis or boards. Whatever kind of skiing or boarding you do — alpine, telemark, or cross-country — when your equipment  feels sluggish or your sharp turns are more like controlled slides, then odds are your boards need a tune-up.

With all the sporting activities going on in the Hakuba valley there are a few qualified qualified masseurs, physios and beauticians in town to help take your daily stresses, aches and pains away. 

If it's raining or it's snowing heavy then a visit to one of Hakuba's craft workshops is an excellent activity to get inside. Spread out there is usually a craft work shop near your accommodation. Crafts also make great souvenirs. See here for Craft Workshops
