There’s no better way to celebrate a great day on the slopes than with a few well earned après ski drinks amongst friends. Hakuba has no shortage of great bars & clubs on which to set your sights once the lifts shut for the day. Be warned - Hakuba's eventful nightlife has proved to have a serious impact on the following days skiing!! Here are a few watering holes for you to try:

Bars in Echoland

Echoland has the reputation as having the best après ski in all of Japan. Numerous bars and restaurants line the main street. There is seriously late night partying here if required. 

Studio 902

Located next to Garage 902, it is one of the most famous bars in Hakuba, if not all of Nagano. DJ’s rip their music into the early hours. Large TV screen for movies/sports. Over 7000 vinyl records. This is après ski at its best. See here for more details.

Master Braster

Small reggae style bar on the main Echoland St. A great place to relax have a few beers and take in the sound of reggae. See here for more details.

Q-Tips

Again located on the main Echoland St, Q-Tips is open every night in the winter season. All kinds of music is played including R&B, techno, trance and reggae. Be warned it gets busy on the weekends. See here for more details

WhiteHorse Hotel

The bar at the White Horse is a place to go to chill out, talk about the days powder, watch some awesome skiing/boarding movies on the big screen. Located just off the main Echoland St. See here for more details

Tomatito

Enjoy a game of darts or pool at this newly opened bar /restaurant next to Echoland Onsen. The motto here is Drink! Eat! Play! See here for more details.

Cherry Pub

Stylish American style bar just off the bottom of the main Echoland St. Great pub food served as well as a bar area with imported and domestic beer, cocktails and wine. Private karaoke rooms are available. For those golf fanatics – there is a gold simulator upstairs. See here for more details.

B-Line

Bar and games room to the right of the main Echoland St. The ground floor is bar lounge and upstairs has darts and pool tables. Open on Fridays and the weekends only. See here for more details.


Bars in Wadano

The Pub

Hakuba’s only British pub, is located at the lower end of the main Wadano St. The pub has a great bar and serves traditional British pub foods. Check out the events calendar for live band evenings. Pool and darts are available upstairs. See here for more details.

The Lounge

Situated in the 5 star Tokyu Hotel, the sophisticated lounge. The interior is a mix of wood and natural stone with large windows offering a view of the Alps. It attracts the more mature crowd who are happy to spend a little more cash. Great place to have a whisky and cigar! See here for more details.

Allure

Bar at Allure is a relaxing sports bar to chill out with your friends, a plasma big screen playing Snowsports movies or the ‘game of the day’. Settle back in a couch with cocktails, beer on tap or sample wines from the cellar. Bar snacks from 4pm and a full bar menu from 5pm.

Double Black

Newly opened bar and restaurant in lower Wadano. Great atmosphere and a fine selection of international wines available . See here for more details. See here for more detail.

The Ridge Restaurant & Bar

Located in the recently renovated Hakuba Hana Hotel, this bar is a great place to unwind with a few drinks with friends you plan your next days on the mountain or before moving into the fabulous Ridge Restaurant.


Bars in Happo.

Yohei Club

Classed as a Hakuba’s first standing bar, the Yohei club is a great place to do après ski. Specializing in cocktails, wines and beer as well as quality local sake. Free internet and table football are available. See here for more details.

Märzen

Located in the Hakuba Springs Hotel, Märzen has an relaxing atmosphere serving quality German beer as well as many different kinds of black and white beers. See here for more details.


Bars in Goryu

Tracks Bar

Located among the accommodation area in Goryu, Tracks Bar offers a night club downstairs popular with both locals and tourists. Upstairs you can relax the night away. Regular live bands and dance parties. Large TV screen shows international sporting events. See here for more details.

Bradbury’s Bar

Located in the Aqua Alpine Hotel, Bradbury’s bar is like an oasis in the desert. Draft beer, fine choice of cocktails as well as large international wine list, including some great wines from Australia. See here for more details.
