One of the easiest as well as the most hassle free way of getting to Hakuba is by Chuo Taxis. The taxis are clean and no smoking. The taxi will meet you at the airport and deliver you as well as all your luggage direct to your hotel. Chuo Taxi's provide this service from both Tokyo airports, Narita and Haneda, as well as Nagoya's Central Airport. You will need to book 5 days in advance and 3 days for the departure back to the airport. Please note that this is a shared taxi so you might have to wait while the taxi picks up and drops off other customers.

 Rent a Car Renting a car is an option worth considering, especially if you would like the freedom of visiting other ski areas in Japan. Also renting a car can be an economical alternative when travelling in groups. In order to drive in Japan you will need an International Drivers Permit which you can obtain from your home country's automobile association. There are many rental companies in Japan but we recommend TOCOO because of their support in English. Please note that snow tyres/chains will be required when driving in the resorts.
